Senior Cost Estimator (Parts)
The successful candidate for this position must be able to interpret customer drawings and communicate with customers in order to resolve potential issues with the manufacturability of components in order to provide accurate price quotations to the customer.
The ability to use shop floor management software data to determine production requirements (human, material and machining resources), past job profitability and other factors that help to determine accurate price quotations is a must as is the ability to efficiently input data into the shop floor management software program. The successful candidate must also work effectively with the Quality Department, Shop Foreman and Purchaser to ensure customer satisfaction and company profitability. Education and Training: The Estimator should have a machining and blue print reading background and be very familiar with GD&T and have a combination of skill sets and experience that will enable that person to provide accurate price quotations in an accurate and timely manner. Technical Requirements: Preferably five years minimum of estimating experience, of which at least three should be in the machining sector. Effectively use computer software, input data, interpret data, prepare statistical reports, and contribute to the quality working environment of the organization. Required Abilities: 1. Analyze drawings and blue prints. 2. Use shop floor management software to determine production requirements (human, material and machining resources); estimate time of delivery for products to clients and co-ordinate work flow and deliveries effectively with Shop Foreman and Purchaser. 3. Create fixed price quotations with accuracy. 4. Create and analyze reports to determine quoting accuracy and job profitability and provide continuous feedback to the President for the purpose of improving function, efficiency and profitability. 5. Ability to use CAD, Mastercam (as related to programming & estimating cycle times).
